  BTI has extensive experience in cybersecurity, having implemented NIST 800-53 and NIST 800-37 security controls for over 200 applications and performed enterprise vulnerability scanning and management for six years at TTB. Additionally, we support federal agencies by managing their Cyber Incident Response Centers (CIRC), ensuring compliance with federal security standards while protecting sensitive information.

BTI provides support to agencies for FISMA compliance. We help maintain an updated list of their IT systems, and identify, and track the integrations between these systems and any other systems in the network including systems that are not operated by or under their direct control. 

We can help support federal agency-selected controls in a system security plan (SSP) per NIST 800-53 release 5.1.1. or create from any baseline.

BTI conducts risk assessments, identifies cyber threats and vulnerabilities, and helps the organization map them to the security controls that could mitigate them per NIST 800-30. We create and maintain system security plans, conduct annual security reviews, and establish continuous monitoring plans to protect systems with best-in-class security against ever-changing threats – external or internal.

No longer are static perimeter defense functions sufficient to securely protect valuable federal data. Zero trust means just that – no user or asset is trusted and modernizing networks need to separate authentication and authorization. BTI has a complete set of tools with expert practitioners to upgrade networks – increasing risk awareness, visibility, and continuous access verification while maintaining the least privileged access.

BTI has extensive background solutioning and providing managed services to Federal customers for improved operational efficiency and effectiveness while reducing cost and operational risks. BTI utilizes a ITIl v. 4 and ITSM framework for service management and delivery of IaaS, SaaS, DaaS, and PaaS managed services. BTI uses tools and systems such as Dynamic 365, ServiceNow, Salesforce as examples.

BTI has 25 years of experience developing mission-critical systems and applications utilizing a variety of methodologies, including Waterfall, Client-Server, and Agile Development with DevSecOps. Our solutions are based on industry best-in-practice standards and conform to CMMI Level 3 for Software Development maturity and deployment. We utilize ITIL standards and guidelines and ITSM Service Management processes and controls for Software Development.

BTI recognizes that data assets are the most valued commodity for most agencies and organizations in today's competitive and rapidly changing environment. Utilizing such tools as Power IT, BTI increases the value of information through our data analytics best practices and increases the confidentiality, integrity, and accessibility of data for customers in their decision-making processes. BTI methods and procedures also ensure quantifiable and quantitative data is available through the speed of delivery to end users reflective of digital modernization goals and standards.

Access to mission-critical data in times of emergencies and unplanned events ranging from natural disasters to threats posed by bad actors is essential. BTI provides offsite backup and recovery solutions and services to ensure mission-critical systems and data are always accessible and available to customers. We manage and operate various Data Center Co-location environments for our customers as well as offsite disaster recovery facilities. We utilize ITIL v.4 and ITSM Disaster Recovery standards and guidelines for best-in solutions. We are ISO 22301 pending for Disaster Recovery and Backup support services. 

BTI provides research and development services to foster a stronger understanding of innovative and disruptive IT technologies, including Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Robotic Process Automation, and BlockChain Services for Financial Services. We continue to perform semi-annual research and partner with government agencies, private organizations, and contractors to understand what is available today and maximize its effectiveness, but more importantly, what tomorrow offers and the impact it can have on customers’ infrastructure and their utilization and management of data.
